Expo 2020 Thematic Districts
Design Management of the public realm for the Thematic Districts at Expo 2020 incorporating 86 permanent buildings to create a series of intimate courtyards that accommodate performance spaces, rest areas, water features, group activities and artwork as an overlay for Expo 2020. Over 2,000 trees were planted to provide a variety of themes reflecting the indigenous and adaptive flora and fauna of the Emirates.

Dubai Opera
Initial feasibility options for a new multi-purpose venue in Dubai’s Downtown District for EMAAR properties. The 2,000 seat venue was required to accommodate a range of events from opera to banqueting. BUA of 25,000 sq m.
Science Museum, London
Lead Designer for the Blue Wall at the Wellcome Wing of the London Science Museum, collaborating with lighting designer Rogier van der Heide. The Wellcome Wing was a UK Millennium project funded by the Millennium Commission. Charles was also responsible for Design and Delivery of the whole external envelope and worked closely with Sir Richard MacCormac to realise his enigmatic design.
